The APS Process

Register on APS Portal
Create your account on aps-india.de and fill in your personal and academic details carefully.
Upload Your Documents
Scan and upload all required documents in the specified format. Use 300 DPI minimum — blurry scans cause rejections.
Pay the ₹18,000 Fee
Pay via demand draft or the online portal. Keep the original receipt — it's your proof of application.
Document Verification
APS reviews your uploaded files and cross-verifies directly with your Indian university. This is the longest phase.
Possible Interview
Roughly 25–30% of applicants receive an interview call. It's a 30–45 minute academic video call — not an exam.
APS Certificate Issued
Your APS certificate arrives via post and email. Valid for a lifetime — you'll never need to apply again.
Common Mistakes
These are the most frequent reasons for APS rejection or multi-week delays. Every one of them is preventable — read carefully.

Name Mismatch Across Documents
Your name must be identical on your passport, degree certificate, application form, and DD. Even a missing middle name causes rejection.
Fix: Use your full legal name exactly as printed on your passport — everywhere. - 02Critical
Missing Semester Marksheets
You need one marksheet per semester — not just a consolidated transcript. APS rejects incomplete semester sets.
Fix: Count every semester you attended and verify one sheet per semester exists. - 03Important
Low-Quality or Phone Scans
Blurry, skewed, or low-DPI scans are a frequent rejection reason. APS evaluators need to read every field clearly.
Fix: Scan at 300 DPI minimum using a flatbed scanner. Avoid phone photos for official documents. - 04Critical
Documents Not Self-Attested
Every submitted copy must be self-attested — signed by you on the page itself. Missing attestations void your application.
Fix: Write 'Self-Attested — Full Name — Date' and sign each page in blue ink. - 05Critical
Wrong Demand Draft Payee Name
The DD must be drawn in favour of exactly 'APS India'. Any variation — 'APS', 'APS Delhi', etc. — makes the DD invalid.
Fix: Verify the exact payee name on aps-india.de before visiting the bank. - 06Important
Not Monitoring Your Email
APS communicates only via email — interview calls, missing document notices, and certificate dispatch all arrive there.
Fix: Check the email you registered with every single day. Forward to your phone.

Use your APS certificate to apply directly or via uni-assist. Your certificate is the gate — without it, applications are rejected at the first check.
Student Visa Application
Your APS certificate is a mandatory attachment in your visa packet. The German embassy will not process your visa without it.
